Formed in New York in 2001, The Boggs' line-up is a constantly revolving one with only Jason Friedman as a full-time member. Former Boggs include Heather D'Angelo of Au Revoir Simone. Describing themselves as "proto post folk garage punk folk punk blues and disco", their debut album We Are The Boggs We Are appeared in 2002. Said to be a re-telling of Harry Smith's Anthology of American Folk Music, the band dubbed it "archival no-wave". The follow up Stitches was put out in 2003, and Forts in 2007 via Tangled Up!
